Help Will the price of Samsung Galaxy S II decrease?

Hello,
I am planning to buy Samsung Galaxy S II nowadays but I heard a new version is coming (Samsung Galaxy S III). So, does this mean I have to wait a little bit? I mean, I still want to buy SII but I dont want to have disappointment if the cost of SII decreases a few weeks later.

The new version will not be out for a while yet, so I'd just get it. Shop around you may find a good deal

I think we will probably be looking at August release for SIII (International version, not U.S), possibly July if we're lucky.

The S2 should go down in price soonish I think, I know there were special christmas price drops on plans/monthly installments (australia), those offers were retracted upon new year, but now that it's Feb, we might see them return/drop more from maybe mid February at earliest, but they can't be too far off.

The Galaxy SII 4G at Bell in Canada came out at $159 for a 3 year term, then dropped to $99 and I notice that today it is at $0... The same is bound to happen elsewhere...

They also have put up a "Galaxy Note Coming Soon" banner...

With plans, many things can happen because service providers are competing with service providers. The real measure is the phone price in the market or at least the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) stated.

When I got my phone on a 2 year contract, lets say it cost "X" amount. And no other service provider was giving the SGS2. Subsequent month(s) later, a few other service providers gave out the phone in packages as well, with one of them free on a 36 month contract with very high monthly charges (which I don't think its worth it). Now, my original service provider sets the price for the same package as "0.9X".

Its about competition between service providers if you are comparing price of phones on contract. Look for the RRP and see if it changes. Haven't seen the RRP drop for 3 months already (here). In fact, the initial version (not the I9100G), actually is a bit more expensive since its harder to get now. The G version can be obtain with a 5%-8% discount of the RRP in the stores.

Cheers

If you are buying it unlocked and full price, the price drop will probably be pretty small. Its down to around $550 here in the US. The GS2, a full year after it was released, is still the best Android phone on the market, IMHO. So demand remains high.
