Will there ever be a android 4.4 update for the hydro life?

Will there ever be a android 4.4 update for the hydro life?I've seen posts on metro pcs's facebook page that kyocera has released the update but metro won't push it to phones so whats the deal will the hydro ever get 4.4 or is it stuck at 4.3 for good?:(
 
I downloaded the update but when i check for updates it keeps saying a mandatory update is available then it says it is automatically downloading it then i let it download the phone reboots and i check and it still says 4.3 so this must be only a kernel update not 4.4 kitkat upgrade.

mandatory update, acts like its updating with scary warning and all. But still on 4.3
 
Why does it keep on saying mandatory update after I install?

May the root be causing this?

Also I read that Kyocera has already sent the Kitkat update to Metro. But I guess metro hasn't released it
 
I have the metropcs model and I clicked check for updates. Is it 4.4 and is it rootable yet?

How can I disable the update until I'm at home on my wifi connection?
