Root Will there ever be a custom Rom?

Roms are possible... Just no custom kernels for overclocking since the bootloader is locked.

Someone is working on CM10(JB) at the moment, though certain things may not work (i.e. mms & data), but not impossible to get working.

Are you not working on a rom? I know bard is working on one maybe 2GigayteSD.

I'm good with the ROM we have jsut like some color changes, black and white would be good, and changing those white menu's to black with white lettering.

Just flashed the rom I put together, and it's running nicely. I will test it a while more, and if all is well, I'll post it this afternoon. :D

I threw some extras in that I think you guys will like. ;)

No black menus though... Maybe later on.

Anyone know of a good free fast file host so I can upload my rom?

I have the following, but uploads are very slow...
Host & ETA:

ubuntu one - 5 hrs +
dropbox - 2-3 hrs
google drive - 5 hrs +
dev host - file too big

Signed packages take so damn long. :(

4shared? no flaming. I havent used it in a long time. lol
lol
It's all good man. I went with google drive. Just getting a bite to eat right now, then I'll write some instructions with screen shots, and post the rom.

Got caught up playing with the official jelly bean 4.2 keyboard I threw in. I also added google now... Love the way it talks to me when I ask a question. Much better than siri. :D

I'm in the minority here, but I'm not too big on custom ROMs. For certain situations, like with the ViewSonic gTab where the stock software is just so awful, then custom ROMs are awesome. My gTab has seen custom ROMs from FroYo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and now Jelly Bean.

However, when a stock ROM is already up to date or functions well already, I don't care about custom ROMs. A replacement launcher and minor hacks/tweaks (i.e., Google Now, Android 4.2 keyboard) are good enough for me. Unless it's something completely polished, for the most part a lot of important things don't work with custom ROM releases. I see way too many "data not working" or "wifi not working" or "MMS not working" or "camera not working." Why anyone would want to gimp their device just for the sake of putting a custom ROM on is beyond me.

Mainly I've seen no blue tooth connectivity with custom Roms. I'm not a big fan either as long as stock is good, but if they've got jb build I'd try it on for size.

I'm not so big on "custom ROMs" as I am on building something like Cyanogenmod from source for the phone.

Anyways, I should have a new CWM for you guys.

Every rom I have installed has always worked fine.

last couple phones I had...

SGS2 Hercules
LG Esteem

The roms for these phones all worked fine. If a rom is labeled alpha or wip, chances are something wont work. My current phone is the S3 which I have stock on 4.1.2, and I can easily see in the forums for it that most of the roms are working well.

When something is not working the dev will let you know in his post, and if you install it knowing this, than it's on you.

You have more chances of things not working in cm10.1 for this phone than stock based roms.

And yes... mms, wifi, and 4G do work on my rom.

Sorry guys, I haven't posted the rom because I realized that I tested everything except bluetooth. I don't have bluetooth headset to test, so I'll have to wait till I meet with a friend. Everything else I tested, and works.
