will voda give me the unlock code?

i can buy an s3 but its on voda will they give me the unlock code for it as im on virgin i dont want to root it in case i balls it up

Hi Joe, if they won't, go to a well known auction site, they unlocked mine in about ten mins, simply by sending me an unlock code, very, very reasonable too. Phil

They will. They might ask 20GBP for it, but will still give it. I had been their subscriber for a few years when I asked for an unlock code, they said 20 quid, but never took the money.

Depends. I bought an orange device. They said theyd sell me it but I needed an orange number. Went and got an orange sim, activated it and called back. They said I had to be a customer for 3 months. It really does depend on their policy.

As mentioned though, they can be bought elsewhere too

Is the s3 an ex contract phone? If so it'll already be unlocked, as Vodafone (in the uk) haven't been locking handsets since about 2008. apart from iphones that is.
