Help Will We EVER See Updates?

Those of you experienced in Verizon smartphones, can we expect any upgrades before the next OS is released? There are lots of things that need fixed but it's been a year with no updates. If not, is there any eta on Keylime Pie>

We most probably will not see any more updates or Key Lime Pie.
The Droid Razr is at end of life as far as Moto is concerned.

I agree, I doubt that the Razr will get anymore updates! It's not a Verizon thing as Verizon is just the phones service provider, Motorola is who comes up with and releases the updates!

That was released by who? Motorola? Anyhow I believe the Razr is comming up close to the 2 yr mark, and by the time key lime is ready, it deff will be over the mark, so I still seriously doubt it will get anymore updates especially since Motorola doesn't have a very good track record with it so far!

Actually, Verizon released the Razr in November of 2011 and the Razr Maxx in January 2012 in the US, so we're still a little inside of that two year window. And if memory serves me right, the OG Droid got an update well past the 2-year time frame. IMHO, Motorola has been one of the best manufacturers (outside of the Nexus line of course) at rolling out OS updates. Maybe 4.3 or 5.0? JB 4.1 rollout was in March 2013, so I wouldn't rule another upgrade out.

Back in the first week of July I got an email from the Motorola Feedback Network (I'm a member) asking if I wanted to test some new release. I was out of town. I tried filling out the form in the browser on my DRM but it was such a pain I gave up. I have not heard anything since about a new release although obviously something was cooking 6 weeks ago. I wonder if anyone has any more info on this.

i'd be surprised if the razr/maxx did not get 4.2.2, but i'd also be surprised if they get KLP.

but i was shocked when my old htc thunderbolt got ICS, too, so who knows.

I am hoping to at least see JB 4.2.2, not sure if we will see 4.3.3 or not. But as far as 5.0 I don't see us getting that update. I would like them to give us an update that activates the NFC on the phone.

Think about it this way, Motorola is in the business of making and selling phones, they want/need you to buy new phones, so in my opinion they have very little vested interest in continued support for older phones, they want you to buy the newest phone with the newest updated software!

Hashcode, the developer of SafeStrap (a very cool tool for safely providing a way to use alternate ROMs without sacrificing your OEM ROM on your Droid RAZR and similar phones) has warned that there's a new update due to be released soon. Unfortunately, it appears to disable SafeStrap and, if installed would effectively prevent SS users from using the currently available 4.2.2 and 4.3 ROMs. From his Twitter feed.
