Meh, I wouldn't be interested. Too much work, not enough knowledge. Besides, I think my talents are better utilized in a Forum Wise-ass capacity.

Hmm, like you i'm color blind so color isn't THAT big of a deal, just seems it needs a little more variety. I like the green at the bottom but not sure what would go with it. Was thinking blue, maybe red but again, i have NO idea what colors go together, LOL

Anyway, here's blue. I tired red but that just looked too Christmas-y, ya know? With the blue, I added a little edging around the androids to make them look less blurry. I also added a subtle scan line effect to the background to add a little more interest. Like it?

Yea, when we go out I'm always getting yelled at cause this doesn't go with that, blah, blah! LOL What i really love is when we go to Loews and she shows me 3 different shades of a color and says 'what do you think honey' at which point i try not to glare daggers at her and politely reply, 'look like all the same color to me'... then she calls me stupid

But at any rate, loving the paper and hate to keep trying to tweak it but what would you think about just the faintest hint of a city skyline within the green to show the 'droids 'invading'??????

That's a great idea! I think it looks way better. Thanks. I also added a little touch of my own. Those two little pixelated words are permanently burned onto my retinas from my childhood. It was that or "Insert Coins". What do you think?

Perfect!! That looks sweet. And i think game over is better than insert coins, though both would be cool as hell. Arcades were still pretty popular when i was a youngin

Sure I think I can whip something up along those Lines. I've had some issues getting the size right on tablet wallpapers. Is 480x800 the screen resolution? If so, then I'd guess that it wants 960x800 to allow for scrolling across screens. Can you confirm this? Here are a few test wallpaper templates - Download them in full resolution and tell me which one works best, with no part of the picture cropped off - If cropping is necessary, tell me what part is cut off.

unfortunately not all the tablets we have are the same sized screen- some are 4.(something), most are 7 and a few are 5 so its hard to test out the templates but thanks for making them, all the same. But then i guess you can choose to crop the images before you set themm as a wallpaper so that might still work. For scrolling across the screens, that doesnt really matter in fact it would be cool if they stayed in thesame place but that doesnt really matter.

First, the physical screen dimensions aren't important - It's the resolution (in pixels) that matters. But I think 960x800 is probably the most standard size, so that's what I'll do considering you'll be using it on different devises. As for them not scrolling across the screens, there is a way to do that (with an app IIRC), but I don't really know anything about it. Maybe try searching here or Google... You're on your own there.

And I was just giving you guys a hard time about the school name - It just struck me as funny. Sounds like you get a chuckle out of it as well. Good luck beating the crosstown rival Buttewhipes this year!

Yeah, I know what you mean. The idea was to make it look carved into the desktop, but it is a little hard to make out. Here it is a little bolder. I don't think the effect is quite as good, but it does show better. If you'd prefer that I ditch that effect idea altogether, I'd be sad, but I'd get over it. Also, the lettering is that size so that it will fit on the center screen in portrait view. If I'm mistaken on how that's working on the tablets, let me know.

And don't feel guilty about asking for changes. I'd rather get these right for requestees tastes than save myself a little work. There is a point at which I will get annoyed at some unreasonable change requests (the "try this - no I don't like that - how about this - no that's all wrong" type), but don't worry - you aren't close. The things you've asked me to change so far have been perfectly reasonable. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to detect when I feel that you're pushing it.

Aw dammit! I forgot about this... Ok I'll think on it some more. Are there elements of the previous one you liked? I really like the background on that one, but hey, that's me. If not, is there a general style of one I've made (or someone else's) that I can use as a rough guideline?

Hey, wondering if anyone can help me out. I'm trying to make the Captain America poster into a wallpaper that doesn't scroll but I can't even figure out what resolution to begin at. Based on how its displaying what I have, I'm assuming I'd have to put the poster onto a blank 960x800 canvas somehow so that the poster ends up in the middle, but I'm a bit overwhelmed trying to figure it out. Appreciate any help or ideas anyone can give. Here is the image:

Hi and welcome to AF. Well, if you want to use just the center screen and ignore the others, then your way should work fine. Here's a template I made that should help. The red area is what should be visible on the center screen. Just paste what you want visible over that area.

Download and save at full resolution (969x800). ↓


I'd be happy to do that for you if you'd like. Just let me know.

If you want a static wallpaper across multiple screens, there are ways to do it (a launcher, if I remember correctly...), but I'm afraid I can't help you out with that one. Maybe try searching here or Google.

Thanks! That worked perfectly. Launcher Pro lets you keep it from scrolling, but you still need the 960x800 wallpaper and it just picks the middle of it as the wallpaper. I was overthinking the whole thing - your template was 100% perfect to paste it onto.

It would be great if you could put like a huge android in the distance walking around like a maniac with water splashing up al around him or something funny like that haha

well i think its the default wallpaper for android 1.5/1.6 phones, so i just typed in 'android wallpaper 1.5' or something like that but after going through many pages, it only showed it as a walpaper on various phones. lets say we did find that picture, could you make my request?

edit: its the default wallpaper on one of my 2.2 roms i downloaded so i looked in the zip file to see if i could find it but i couldnt do you think it will even be in there?

Ok, good find. I could only find it on an Epad screen (some Chinese iPad knock-off). Not sure I can do it, but I'll give it a try and let you know.
