:DO.K. let's try this another way. I've been trying and trying to get help on this forum but nothing.
I know there is a way to reconfigure my desktop to be a public network on windows 7 because laptops use the same o.s and use the $20 hotspot extra on their phones to access Skype. I've already switched phone to public, now how about the PC.
I try to do my part by checking unanswered threads and giving help where I can.
My wife and I would really really like to get a return on our investment to be able to see our army wife/ new mother daughter on mother's day.If you do not know the answer, please leave this in unanswered threads, because as soon as a thread is answered it seems to get lost in all the garbage discussions. If you have a derogatory comment feel free to send it to me in a private message. I will take all comments for their worth and maybe if you want one, discuss it with you.
Thanks ahead of time for the person or persons who are willing to take their time to give me a real answer.

Honestly it's pretty hard to understand what you are asking.

Based off trying to understand the question are you trying to share your Windows 7 internet connection by using your desktop as a WiFi Hotspot?

Or are you trying to tether your phones internet to the desktop?

Neither. I'm trying to find out how to get skype to allow video call. Got internet access, changed phone to public changed in desktop settings to allow skype public only. Still some message " skype will not work with closed or private networks.
Vz technical support tried to help but said it's in computer settings. If someone who runs win 7 on laptop and uses hotspot on phone to access web AND free skype they could probably help by looking in their settings and maybe p.m. me with step by step to help save time & space on thread. When I get the solution, I'll b able to pass it on to the answers in forum. Olskool

Especially when it's for free.

Given that application is time-critical, you might want to pursue other avenues, perhaps Yahoo messenger can help with this, for example.

Is your daughter on a phone or a desktop?

Phone and laptop. They told me 'bout messenger and others. Trying b4 momma gets off work t'morrow. MORE'N 1 WAY TA SKIN A CAT! Maybe.

I'm going to try Y! messenger and consult windows tech support later. I'm told that Skype has the best video quality though. Thanks for other suggestions and God bless the one who comes up with the answer for us. On my way to church now and will check back later.
