Win 8 upgrade

Doing a clean install of Win8. I'm still on Win7 Home Basic that came with the laptop that I bought, and I think the Metro UI is nice.

I hope you made a recovery disk set first. Just asking. You will need that if you want to reinstall Win7.

There's not really that much difference between Home Basic and Home Premium, it's mainly the that it only has partial Aero instead of full. It's a low license cost Windows intended for emerging markets. I'm in Mainland China, most lower cost PCs do come with Home Basic here. Although I bought my PC in Hong Kong SAR, so it came with Home Premium.

Presumably with Win 8 there won't be separate Home Basic and Home Premium versions.

Honestly, I tried Windows 8. I'm not really a fan, especially with the overboard security.

Don't get me wrong, I understand WHY they want to do that...

But NEED to make an account just to log on to get to the start menu? wut? No thanks, I'll stick with Linux, or Windows XP.

Yeah, no. I ran the beta for a full week. Didn't like it, I'll be clinging to Linux and Win7Pro. Hopefully this drives a push towards more COMMERCIAL Linux usability, and gaming.
