Help Win XP does not recognise S II X after ICS upgrade

fulltank

Lurker
I have had issues with Kies not recognizing my phone but in the past but after a mild tweak I have always been able to sort it out, but since my S II X upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich windows xp on all my different computers cant recognize the phone.
I get "usb device not recognized". My ICS upgrade was the official upgrade from my phone carrier, I have not heard of anyone having a similar problem.
Has anyone else had a similar problem or have any ideas ?

Have you tried uninstalling Kies and the drivers, cleaning your temp folders in Windows, downloading and re-installing Kies?

It should work. Make sure to reboot you phone before you connect it to your PC.

I tried your suggestion Xerses twice in fact but I am still getting the same
response from windows saying it does not recognize the USB Device

Have you tried to wipe and factory default your phone?

WARNING: Wipe and default will erase EVERYTHING on your phone. Be sure to back up all of your data first (SD card if PC is not possible).

I spent 2.5 hours with a Samsung tec on the phone we wiped the phone clean and re installed kies again and still windows does not recognize the phone. He finally gave up. He said xp is fully compatible with ics 4.0.3 but
someone needs to tell my phone that!
I wonder if there is a way to reinstall ICS
