Winamp for android and desktop.

Hello all,

I am looking for information on the above. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 on ICS.

I have just bought an external memory card so I can put my music, videos etc on it. I have used the file manager function to transfer all my music over...successfully too!

My question is will Winamp automatically add it to the new directory on the ext memory card? Or do I need to change something on the app or desktop version? I went to sync it after moving the music over and it said that there were 199 files not currently in the local media folder. Which is about what I have on there at the moment.

I have done a Google search and on the whole it hasn't been able to answer my question.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

You need to change something on the desktop version. It would aslo depend on how you sync your device. Are you syncing app to app or are you connecting your phone as an MTP or USB storage device? The people at the WinAmp forums will be able to answer you better:

Hi thanks for your reply.

I sync it wirelessly through Winamp on my desktop. I know it's possible to connect it via usb and use file manager or KIES to sync but I don't think that will update / sync my playlists in Winamp.

I will see what they say over at the Winamp forum...although as I said a Google search has turned up nothing significant

You can use WinAmp on desktop to sync your playlists to your Android device. I use the Windows version to manage my music and sync via USB cable to my phone.

Having now searched on the winamp forums it looks as though it a problem with the wireless sync. It will only picks up the phones internal 16gb of memory.
The way around this is to use the USB cable and then specify the external memory that shows up in the devices menu.

Okay sync'd by USB cable connected as MTP all transfers say 100% on desktop winamp. I go into winamp on phone and all playlists are there....however nothing listed in any of the playlists!! Also all are unknown artists and when I go into the songs list it says no songs on device.

I have looked on winamp forum and can't find a solution.

Can anyone help or even recommend another player where it is easy to sync to external memory...
