Hi everyone
Hope everyone is doing well who reads this.

I was looking looking at buying a android tablet but still want Windows.
I have been looking around and have came across many topics but no confirmed answers.

I figured the best place to start would be here as a great place all the intelligent android users hang out.

Can anyone offer any suggestions as i am looking to see is there anyway to run windows on android in a virtual machine?

After searching i came across gemu or similar to suns virtualbox.

What i would like to do is run XP or XPE, Windows Embedded Standard 7 on android so i can use windows software as well.

From what i have read is windows is not made for ARM processors and needs x86 to run smooth.

The tablets ive been looking at all have 1.5+ Ghz processors, 8gig flash, 2gig ram.

Can anyone offer some insight?

All is appriciated, thanks :)

hi neo

Well it seems you can find android tablets more in 7 in then windows ones. I am looking to bring it on the go. The one i found close to that size that will not kill you in cost, one close is the hp slate at 8.9 in.

Plus i really like android as well.

Is it really that hard to do?

I just came across the dual boot vmware MVP, but it seems it is old and only boots android and ce 5.0.

thanks for the reply anyway

Until Windows runs natively or in VM on Android you may want to run your Windows machine(s) remotely from/on your Android device using the free Teamviewer app (in the Play Store). You will also need to install free Teamviewer on your Windows machine from Teamviewer.com.

I know there were dual boot Android and Windows devices utilizing x86 processors. But can't recall who made them, costs and size. Maybe look into that?

hi 1819

I really do not want to rely on leaving my computer on at home to control it.
Both operating systems have great applications.

Currently i use MS Office, or on the go i would like to use centrafuse or streetdeck in my car.

But android has such great apps as well.

No one has ever tried this Gemu or Vmware as a virtual machine, no one makes one?

This virtualbox by sun, they have for linux, is that not what android is anyway?

Thanks for all the replys guys :)

VMWare have an app for Android, but it's to allow you to run a second, separate Android VM, and I don't think it can do Windows.

Android is based on a fork of the linux kernel, but it's rather different in how it runs apps - there's nothing like the dalvik virtual machine in a desktop linux distro, for example. So you won't be able to just run a linux app on it.

There are projects to run linux distros on some Android devices, but doing that, then running virtualbox inside it and trying to run Windows inside the VM is not likely to be very pleasant or responsive if it works at all.

Thanks hadron
Well this sucks, haha
I have found so many videos of ubuntu doing it.

Well i guess i ll have to do without windows for now, haha or wait for technology to catch up.

Thanks for all your replies everyone.

Does anyone know of a great auto app for android similar to streetdeck or centrafuse?

I guess it i have to stick with just android.

You can set up your home windows computer with a password protected screen saver for security and start up its Teamviewer before you leave.
OR you can wait for Ubuntu for your phone or tablet which is expected to be released in summer.

oh ok

thanks for the replies 1819

Do you or anyone know of any software for android similar to streetdeck, or centrafuse, or even roadrunner?

Thanks
