Wipe contacts and redo?

Hi guys. I'm sure there's a simple way to do this, but I can't find how to input contacts from the sd card. I figured out how to wipe the contacts and I already have them saved on the sd card. Can anyone tell me how to import them to the phone? Thanks!

Are they Google contacts? If what's on your sd is exactly correct, you may want to remove contacts in Gmail on a computer first. However, gmail on a computer has a "merge duplicates" function too.

Basically, go into "accounts and sync" and turn off all sync.

Then go into application manager, open "contacts storage" and do a "clear data".

Then you can import and sync to your heart's content.

Worth noting though if your Gmail contacts are a mess, not addressing this will mean when you turn sync on, you will sync the mess back

Thanks very much! I realized that part of the problem was my S3 didn't recognize that I put the SD card in, so I popped it out and put it back in and it found the SD card. I appreciate your help. I think I need to clean up my Google contacts!
