Help Wiping cache partition issues

The first time it took about 10 mins. 2nd time failed after 30 mins and I had to restart. 3rd time just took 25 mins but completed. What's going on!?!?!

I'm not sure why, but that's normal for Moto phones on KitKat.

I have not found an explanation of why it takes so long. After 4.4.4 on the Maxx and Turbo my maximum time was about 6 minutes. Prior to that it was around 30 to 45 seconds.

How did it fail on the second attempt? Did you just get tired of it taking so long?

It failed on its own; just went to a screen with a red exclamation point. I thought it was bricked but luckily it restarted by holding the power button down.
