Wiping Old Phone

I just purchased a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S5 and want to wipe the VM S3 clean before selling it. I had it rooted and have flashed it back to stock ROM. My question is how do I clear out my Contacts and other personal data? Would booting into Recovery and doing a Wipe Data Factory Reset take care of it or is there another method?

Lifehacker posted some relevant articles on wiping a phone. They recommend encrypting the phone first, then doing a factory wipe so even if any of your data is still buried somewhere on the phone's media it's unrecoverable.
