Wired Headphones Issue

This is a little complicated so I will try to summarize as best as possible

I have a pair of Sony earbuds with a mic. They used to work perfectly fine, but now when I plug them into my phone, they pause the music playing if the jack moves even slightly. I know the headphones arent the problem since I tried them on other Android devices and the issue didn't happen. The headphone jack isn't the problem since I tried multiple different types of headphones on my phone and there was no issue with them. Here's everything I've tried to fix the problem, but have not worked:
  • Installed SoundAbout and other audio management apps
  • Replaced the headphone jack in my phone
  • Tested to see if the headphones were the problem
  • Pushed the headphone jack in hard to see if it just wasn't pushed in all the way
I've only found one fix so far, but it's very temporary and crude. Basically, I wrap a small piece of tape around the connector ring on the jack closest to the tip and that solves the issue. However, the tape always gets crumpled or out of place when I unplug the headphones.
Does anyone have any way I can fix this? I will appreciate any answers.
