Root Wireless Problem - update radio?

Hi.

I have a HTC Desire which is rooted, S-OFF and loaded with the latest stable Cyangenmod. My wireless connection is fine at home but keeps dropping at work. Someone mentioned that I may need to update the radio - is this correct?

I've also tried LeeDroid and another ROM and I had the same wireless problems at work.

All other wireless devices work fine at home and at work - it's just the HTC Desire at work I have problems with.

Tell us what radio you have? It's always possible that a new radio will improve things, but equally there is no guarantee.

Do make sure you know how to update the radio safely before proceding - ask here if at all unsure, because a bad radio flash is unrecoverable.

If it's OK, I'm going to move this thread to the root subforum, as it only applies to rooted devices.

Thanks for the reply.

The radio I have is 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 - should I update?

Is it just a case of finding the right version, putting it on my sdcard and installing it in the bootloader?

If you're s-off, the best way is to use fastboot and flash the .img file (not .zip file) of the radio using a windows based PC.

We have an adb and fastboot faq, available via the "All things root guide" sticky thread, which you should read.

We have most of the radios in the "Ultimate toolbox" thread, also in the sticky.

The MD5 is a checksum. Basically if the MD5 output of the zip file matches whats in the md5 file, the file is NOT corrupt.

As previously mentioned, everything is in the "all things root guide" sticky thread that you need.

I would recommend however, reading more than the MD5 and adb/fastbopot faq.
