Help wireless tether 2.2

i cant get it to work. my pc connects to it but i cant get online. ive tried the pre9 and the one in the market.

Are you rooted? Paying VZW for the hotspot?

I use wireless tether everyday on 2.2. Sometimes I have problems with it like you're describing, but I fix it by just ending the tether session and restarting it.
