With or without Case/Screen protector

Hey there,

I've pre ordered the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. :)

I was wondering how you plan, or not, to protect your Galaxy Note 3. And even more, is it necessary?

1. Case
Lots of talk about the plastic built.
It seems it will not be that senstive and wil stand normal usage. The plastic can stand more, visualy, than the aluminium of the iphone or the HTC One. Easier to spot a dent or a scratch on alu!? (Galaxy S4 vs HTC One)
And the back cover is easy and cheap to replace/exchange.
So is a case necessary? And what kind of case will you buy? Haven't found any nice cases, even for the Note 2, so tips?

2. Screen protector.
If i'm right the Note3 has GorillaGlass3. Is a screen protector not unnecessary then?
And if you'll buy one what kind would you choose?

I like to hear your opnion before I make my decision.

Thanks!:)

Gorilla glass is not scratch proof, but it is resistant. Sand? Depends on how much grinding in that sand will do.

You asked: I'm getting a black Note 3 with black S-View cover. Not so much for protection (well, a little) as much as for functionality.

Protecting ones phone is always a challenge.

Drops are not something anyone does on purpose, yet to say we don't plan to drop it is awfully wishful. After all that's why they're called accidents, as one simply cannot always be in control of the unforeseen circumstance.

I dedicate my left front pocket to my phone only. This, because I strongly dislike screen protectors. When in use I do my best to be careful, yet I am still at risk of dropping it. A risk I'm willing to take.

Recently I've found a stellar case in the form of the Spigen SGP Slim Armor. It fits my Galaxy S4 perfectly. Luckily they are building one for the Galaxy 3 I have on pre-order. So I will proceed as usual with a case only.

I will buy one of the Samsung S-View wireless charging covers for the phone and I will also definitely get a screen protector for it. I've never used any of the glass ones before and I may well do this time around. Not sure yet.

Official Samsung cases arent on sale yet are they?

And my understanding is the flip case or s-view case both replace the battery cover? Kind of funny with all the talk about the textured back that they sell accessories that replace it.

Which also have a textured back. The same textured front too.

I like the idea of the S-view case, did they say when we could purchase them? I'm kind of curious how they work such that you can use it through the plastic window but it won't accidentally turn on when it's in your pocket and burn battery.

Those iloome glass screens look awesome. any word on when they will be available for the note 3?

What slim cases with good protection have you guys found? Looking to keep the phone from getting much bigger but want to have decent protection from drops.

I will definitely get a Spigen case for my new Note 3. I think it enhances the look of the phone.

On the other hand, the Otterbox cases look horrible. Can't believe anyone would buy anything from them.

As for screen protectors...I've never used them and have never had problems with scratching the screens on my last 3 mobile devices.

Hello!

Thanks for your question! We expect the ScreenMate Flexible Glass for the Galaxy Note 3 to be available on October 4th, and the ScreenMate Original Tempered Glass to be available on October 11th :)

Thank you!

Best regards,
Luke Lee

Does anyone know what the customer service is like with Spigen? Otterbox was alway quick to replace broken or defective products in my experience with them. I have seen some comments about the wearing of the coloring on those cases. If ther customer service is good I would like to try them.

Ordered a spigen so I can have protection until seidio comes out with a convert case

I suggest you get ready for multiple people per day to ask you if that's a note3 in your pocket or are you just happy to see them... lol

For me probably an otterbox defender with the screen protector removed.

xenon- The iLoome ScreenMate Flex is available for pre-order for $16.99 USD. Does anyone have any experience with iLoome products? Also, is the N3 screen flat?
