WLAN/Mobile switch when no internet

Hello

This is a smaller bother, but it is there:
I can connect to the internet over mobile internet (3G) or WLAN at home/office. This works well almost all the time, with one exception:

When the WLAN is on but not connected to the internet (the DSL modem is off but the home net is up), android will drop the 3G connection, log into the WLAN but you can't access the web (obviously). I then have to switch off the WLAN access on the phone.

Yes, there are bigger problems out there, but I was wondering if there is a way to get android to check if there is a working internet connection on the WLAN and only log in when that is so.

And yes, I could get up from the sofa/bed and switch that modem on, I know...

Thanks

S.

I don't believe there is a way for android to do this, although it would be a nice feature.

You could make turning off your WiFi faster by adding a shortcut to your WiFi settings on the home screen.

Thanks, Kate, for your reply

I was thinking if you could use the checking for google services as a proxy for this. My WLAN signal indicator will turn blue when it has signed in to google services but stays grey otherwise. This could work as a quite reasonable indicator of if you are connected to the internet or not.

MAybe an idea for someone out there?
