WMA player for Froyo?

PoisonJam

Newbie
Just put Froyo on my Orange San Fran but now it won't even see my WMA files (as opposed to 2.1 which saw them but didn't recognise the meta info).

90% of my music collection is ripped as WMA... are there any working apps out there? I've done a little research and just come up with negative reviews.

A quick search here gave me this.

I was in the same boat as you and ended up just changing the file extensions to .mp3. It was tedious to say the least.

Now I have my entire collection uploaded to the Google Music cloud and it will play any file extension I can throw at it through the Google Music app. This is streaming of course and will use data but I'm gonna squeeze every bit from Verizon since they seem so keen to squeeze every dime out of me.

Thanks, that post looks like it was written from someone from PowerAmp themselves though!

$5 isn't a lot if it's going to save me a lot of hassle. I was considering rolling back to 2.1, it'd be better than re-encoding half my music collection.

EDIT: Just installed the trial and it's working perfectly. :) I have to navigate artists and albums in folder view but that's good enough for me. Thanks! :D

Install iTunes and add the song in iTunesm, and create MP3 version.
I hate iTunes...
What that software is going to do is to convert wma's to mp3, resulting in a quality loss.

PowerAMP is a good piece of music player and the 3.63 EUR sounds a good price for it.
There are also free music players available that can play wma, such as MortPlayer.
Finally, you can always convert your music files to mp3.
