Help wont charge

ive noticed a couple of months back that my charger wont fit into the socket all the way, it never really bothered me as long as it charged, but if i used it as sat nav it would drop out as soon as i hit a bump etc.

today my phone wont charge atall, ive tried 3 different chargers and 1 in car charger, all feel loose, when i look i can see it only going halfway in but, thats as far as it can go? there is nothing preventing it from going further, that is as far as it can go?

any suggestions or is it a shop job?

See if you can line up the pin with the hole in your charger. Sounds like it could be possibly slightly bent as its keeping your charger out.
I assume there's nothing obvious blocking it? I'd also be inclined to delicately try to push it and see if there's any change.
Not comfortable doing thay send it back. I'm sure they'll fix it even if it means not having a Desire for a couple of weeks.

out of warranty last month grrr on close inspection a tiny bit may of broke off the bit inside of the phone, but still it only goes half on and theres no way anything is blocking it ive had the torch looking, tried different chargers....puzzled, think ill have to find somewhere cheap that does it

I've uploaded a couple of images of mine. Not the best but I'm sure you could use them for comparison.

Zoomed right in it looks quite grubby! And I've tried so hard in keeping it nice and clean.
