Help Won't let me add apps to SD card

Hi everyone, this is my first smartphone, so I'll need some help! Whenever I try to download a new app, the phone tells me I don't have enough storage (total space on phone left: 17.75 MB, on SD card 1.65 GB). I have very few apps downloaded, and I've but as many as I can on the SD card. But there are some apps that I can't move over (the "move to SD card" button is faded and I can't make the move). Because there is so little storage on the phone, I can't even download something to put it on the card.

What can I do? Is there a way I can download apps right to the card? Thank you!
