Help Won't let me delete long message thread.

Long story short, messaging has become a bit slower recently but I've put it down to me and my girlfriend having over 10,000 messages which I haven't deleted. Why haven't I deleted them? Well, the auto-delete feature makes the notifications sound stop so I never hear when I have a text (presumably because it deletes during the notification so it cancels out the sound) and sometimes I've been too busy to just delete one by one.

Now when I try to delete the whole thread, it says "Deleting..." for ages and then the messaging app crashes. I now use GoSMSPro (which rocks btw) but I really want to delete these messages to speed things up. Also, I should have mentioned this before but with my girlfriend some texts merge now. For example, she will send me a message but it well merge with a message she sent like a month or so ago and it results in me receiving a message I don't understand at all, I once again have blamed this on the fact there's so many texts there.

I remember others having this issue on the OG EVO and unfortunately I believe the only way to delete them is by doing a few at a time.

While viewing the messages press Menu-->Delete Messages and then put a check mark in about 100 of them and see if it will delete all of them without timing out. If it does time out, try checking less of them. If it deletes all of them then try checking more.

Yea, it'll take some time but it's the only work around I know of.

Not sure if the merged texts are an issues with Go or not, I personally don't like anything Go does. With my old phone any type of Go app I used would constantly crash on me and the phone would lock/freeze up and I got tired of having to pull my battery out 6+ times a day...lol
You could go into the App Management settings and clear the Cache for the GoSMS app to see if that helps with the merged messages.
