won't recognize charging

I have my phone connected to the charger it came with and it will not recognize the fact that it is connected to the charger. it fluctuates between charging for about 5 seconds and then says discharging/connect your charger. I cannot replace the battery as it is internal and cannot be removed. the phone is 7 months old. is there something I can do?

Return it for a warranty repair. It sounds as if the charging port is connecting to the board intermittently. (It's a common problem across many manufacturers.)
