Wont turn on

My tmobile samsung galaxy s3 wont turn on at all if off the charger, but when i put it on the charger it will start up with the full battery picture, then when i try and turn it on it goes all the way to the tmobile screen and then turns off and returns to battery screen. i tried rebooting it but it does nothing different. what should i do. i dont want to factory reset if im not sure it will fix the problem

I would try another battery. Maybe you know someone with an s3 who could let you borrow their battery for a few minutes? If that fixes it you need a new battery.

Then try a different charger. That may be the issue (but I doubt it from what you have said)

If neither then there is a fault with your phone. You then may as well try a factory reset.... before sending for repair.
