Work Email Setup

I just purchased my first smartphone, a Galaxy Proclaim. I was able to setup my personal gmail account but am struggling with my work email account. I have tried to set it up through the corporate and through the "others" section in my phone. I know my user name and password are correct but am uncertain as to what to choose between IMAP/POP3. I get ever a java.net or unable to connect to server errors. Any assistance/information would be most appreciated.

To setup the account you need to contact your IT guy and get more info such as in/out server names, port numbers, security settings, account type, etc.

HEY you must use your imap email settings FIRST, before doing and exchange or google.
I was first told i was going to have to do a factory reseet...and that was unacceptablee! So heres how-
hit email icon. when it goes into your email, go up to inbox nd select. it will pull up a list of boxes. One of them is "delete account". you must hard press this button and it will ask you if you want to delete...you do!!
You then get an option for "IMAP", POP" or "Exchange"...after doing the IMAP or POP, you can return and do all the exchanges and googles your little heart desires. But you only get one chance to do an IMAP or POP. dont kno why...
