Workaround for More than 6 Offline Maps?

Azma

Newbie
Hello there! Since mobile data costs a fortune, I wanted to save maps of my city, and those where I go relatively often, in Google maps for offline use. But at some point, reaching 6 maps, it tells me I've reached the limit. I check my SD card: plenty of space, still.

After a little bit of search, I found that no matter the size of the maps, you cannot download more than 6 individual maps. Thing is, I had saved, in 4 smaller maps (and anyway something that large wouldn't fit in one map - besides, I don't need the woods around it), a large portion of a long road and its tiny surroundings, to make sure I could use the GPS guiding feature when I'm there, and it wouldn't get confused because a large part of the road is missing, even though it's pretty straightforward.

But still, I'm here, stuck: I've only saved my city, its surroundings, and the road. I can't do any more. I still need at the very least 5 more maps. I really don't know what to do now. It sounds pretty stupid to me to limit the number of maps to an arbitrary number like that...

I know there are "offline map" apps from before Google Maps allowed us to download maps, but those aren't Google maps, are they? I really like how it works. ._.

So here: Is there a workaround for saving more maps? (No roots please~ my phone's warranty is important.)

The limit of each map of this six maps is about 80MB.

Maybe so you can cover your wanted area.

Ehm, nope. My city alone is 60 MB, and the road doesn't fit in less than 2 maps with effort. Really, it's impossible to fit it.

Also, is it just me who thinksit's really stupid to allow offline maps but limit them so outrageously? ._.

... and there is another annoying thing:
Have a cloose look at your city's map online, and then offline without a data connection.
I think, in the offline map you won't find the name of small streets anymore.

I tried that with big cities.

Mhm, I'll look at it.

But anyway, if anyone knows of a hack or whatever to deal with the limit, I'd be happy to hear it!
