Working spreadsheet application available?

I've got both Polaris Office and QuickOffice to view/"edit" spreadsheets. Both have pros and cons, but that's a different story. Anywho, there's a spreadshet that I have sync'd via dropbox from my pc to my phn, but when i enter data in a cell, neither application will actually update per the formula. It's not a rocket science formula either, simply an addition formula, aka monthly ledger. I enter say "$25.00", and it puts the value in the cell but at no point calculates it in the totals at all. This happens in both office applications, but once I check the spreadsheet on my pc it calculates correctly. Is there a "calculate" or "execute" button somewhere? I'm not understanding the purpose of being sble to edit on my cell if it doesn't actually calculate per the formula.

The formula doesnt show at all on any cells when viewing from the phone, but works just fine on the pc

I have QuickOffice and Polaris on two phones, each app as stock Office app on a phone and both show the formulas in the cells of Excel sheets.
EDIT: If I change a summand (input the new figure with 'Return' on the keyboard) then the sum change too.

Maybe you have on the PC the Excel sheet set for hidden formulas?

Ive tried the return key trick also, still no change. I dont have anything set to hidden either. I'll try a simple copy/paste of the file and see if that helps (vs syncing with dropbox), along with saving the file as xls vs xlsx.
