Help worrying file

Hi everyone. Hope you can help. I keep getting a file called countryname.txt in my download folder. I delete it then next time i look its back again. I have a galaxy s5. Its quite a worry.

You sure you deleted the txt?
Maybe you only deleted the download task, not the file, or it is only read

Its not a text message. Its just a file called countryname.txt in my downloads folder. If i open it with polaris there is a huge list of countries and their dialing codes.

Thats what that file usually is. You most likely have an app that is trying to update it.

Oh. Ok thanks. Is it a security issue or should i not worry about it.

Well, apps dont usually leave files in the downloads folder but it sounds innocuous.

If you are worried, install and run this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.malwarebytes.antimalware&hl=en
I dont keep such apps installed - just reinstall and run them if I suspect there may be an issue
