worth getting the galaxy tab or just wait?

ok so i posted my photography camera on craigslist and was looking to trade it for an android tablet. The camera sells for around $300 in its current condition. So my question is is the Tab (being the first one made) a good bet on a decent android tablet? Also it is a T-mobile version and is it true that you can do pay as you go plans? Also how is the support and rooting scene for this tablet?

I like mine. For $200 bucks I got a new one from US Cellular, so you shouldn't have to pay more than that for the used one.

It's good hardware, not cheaply made like some other tablets. Don't expect it to run Honeycomb or anything but in a 7 inch tablet that is not necessary.

If you decide to wait till something else, new, comes up, you will end up paying more anyway. Besides, 4G is around the corner so you know in a year or two you will be buying another tablet.

ok cool thx just trying to guage if it would be worth it trading this camera for it >.< guess overall seem like a decent idea any chance you know if there is a pay as you go plan for data use? cuz that what id liek to use the tablet for the most

if it is a GSM tablet, then both AT&T and Tmo have prepaid data that is reasonably priced, either by month or by day. Remember that AT&T and Tmo 3G are incompatible so you may be stuck with EDGE.

for the CDMA tab, choices are more limited. Verizon might have a prepaid data plan, but not cheap, Sprint you have to hack the Gtab to activate on Boost, then you get cheap prepaid data.

Not true.....Verizon just OTA'ed a Honeycomb update for their Tab (November 2nd) and it is improvement. So far, screen contrast and battery life seem to have improved. I'm surprised I'm not hearing more on the update.
