Worth the upgrade to an HTC one m8 from Nexus 5?

I've had my Nexus since launch and just grabbed an HTC m8. Trying to decide if I should keep it or not. The Nexus is a solid device and I love stock android. Pros of the m8 are build quality and battery life but other then that I don't really see much more. Any thoughts?

Everything I've seen says that there's not much on the market that's notably "better" than the Nexus 5 from a spec standpoint. In fact, in terms of "better", I'd say there are really only a couple phones that are arguably even worth considering. The M8 is one of them due to it's stereo forward facing speakers, and the other is the note 3, due to screen size, RAM, and gigantic battery.

I'm not paying $300 for forward facing speakers, but I had a seriously hard time choosing between the Nexus and Note 3. Ultimately, price won out, but I'd really like a Note 3. I loved my Note 2.

Yeah I like the m8 but am thinking it's not worth spending the cash for it. The build and speakers are a plus but other then that I don't see a true upgrade from the nexus.

Well, if you like stock Android and the front speakers, the M8 GPE would probably be a good fit. Though the price is difficult to swallow considering you already have a Nexus 5

Yeah I decided to return the m8 and stick with the nexus. The price difference just doesn't warrant the purchase. Thanks.

That would have been my call .. but them I'm as tight as duck's derriere :D

The M8 is gorgeous: doubtless aesthetically - and possibly functionally - better than the N5, but the difference between them (I recently got to play with both) isn't anywhere near enough to justify the additional cost .. for me. YMMV.

Same here. I think the n5 performs better anyway. I was just drawn to the build quality. But to be honest I liked the m7 better. The m8 is too tall for the screen size in my opinion.

I was thinking the other day what hardware would get me to switch.

The newest trend were seeing is 3GB of RAM - would that do it?

Likely not. I've ALWAYS got over 1GB free right now.

I love the screen on the n5, for all the flak it gets it takes fine pictures.

About the only thing I can think of is a larger or removable battery, but that by itself doesn't warrant a switch.

I've been due for an upgrade for some time - and this July when I'm back home I'll have to change plans which will come with a new device.

What I'd get and whether I'd sell it and pocket the cash is the only the only question.

I'd like to think I'll sell it, but I tend to like shiny new toys. I know id regret keeping it

I'll probably stick with this N5 until the 6 comes out (if it does). If not I'll buying the Moto X+ if its has a 5 inch screen. Thought any the one plus one but 5.5 is just to big for me.
