It's not worth updating, especially if you are interested in Root, as there will not be any Development for the latest Verizon Droid line. The Droid line signifies the beginning of the Droid era as well as the End of Droid. The next line of Motorola devices are not going to be known as Droid devices, much like the Moto X is separate from the Droid. You can also expect to see the relationship between Verizon and Motorola to begin to change much more, as other carriers will be the focus for Motorola devices, especially GSM networks.
I wouldn't even look at the new Droid's, as far as I'm concerned my RMHD really is the last of the Droid devices that will ever receive Development.
9.18.79... the number of the beast, the system version that doesn't have root exploit.
When I bought the phone (used), the guy said the previous owner hadn't had it but 5 days. I wonder if it was because of this. Can someone confirm that indeed there is no root possibility for 4.1.2 with system version 9.18.79?
Thanks
Steph
