Would the screen melt

Today my friend dropped a cigarette on my screen but I got it off quickly and no damage was done to the screen protector. Just wondering how long something like that would take to burn the screen considering there is a screen protector? I've seen lots of drop and water test videos but nothing about fire or heat.
Edit: I burned a cigarette through a spare screen protector. The results are better than I expected. I will post a video eventually.

It depends on the screen protector. They're all different.

How about the actual glass... does it have its own plastic coating (or just below the glass) that could melt?
