Would you buy the Galaxy S5?

Hello everyone!

The Samsung Galaxy S5 has just been announced this week. Did Samsung convince you to upgrade? Samsung thinks they have released new features to get new people buying their phone but would you buy it?

Buy it? No. But the fingerprint reader is nice enough that I wouldn't turn it down if someone gave me one for free.
 
I totally agree. It wouldn't make much of a difference if you upgrade from the S4 to the S5 and Like you said , if someone gave it for free, I would't say no :)

Everything is the same? Compared to the GS4, the S5 has:

- Much improved camera, faster shutter, better HDR modes, new camera UI, etc
- 20 % longer battery life, plus that super-extended life feature where it allows 24 hours standby on the last 10% of your battery
- a better screen with improved brightness, colors, etc, etc
- faster processor
- Water resistance
- improved LTE and WIFI speeds
- Improved TouchWiz UI
- Heart rate monitor / Fingerprint scanner
- less slippery back of the phone
 
Looks good enough for me. I'm getting it. My only gripe was no 2K display, even faster processor. But now that I think about it, that would likely hurt battery life and it still should be plenty fast.

I think battery life and camera would be significant upgrade even from S4. Phase detection auto-focus in S5 is that of DSLRs which is much faster, accurate than contrast auto-focus.
