Would you pay to watch YouTube?

If it makes them re-release old and out of print stuff then I for one will be happy wiith the result. There's no copyright (in Australia) on recordings over fifty years old (I think it's seventy five years in the States) which makes early recordings fair game. Remasters are a different story, as I think they're considered 'new' recordings...

A friend of mine had her Wedding video up on youtube, they ended up removing the music she had used while editting because of copyright issues

God. I can't even imagine that happening and proceeding to grow. To be perfectly honest... It's outright crazy, why is youtube doing this heh. I remember back in 2007/2008 and up until 2012/2013 youtube was great and the past recent years it has been getting worse and worse everyday lol. However, it still doesn't stop me from going on there whenever I'm bored lol. Let's be honest here... they do have some good content on there when you're bored xP

i love youtube. I like this particular girl who i think is super funny
She has over 9 million subscribers. She must be doing something right!

Well your statement clearly indicated 'people will pay' I'm 'people' and I along with many other users wouldn't pay a dime to watch youtube.

I don't think enough people signed up for YouTube Red or YouTube Music for it to have made a difference for most people. I think the plan was for the huge YouTubers to make exclusive content for Red, but since I don't like or watch huge YouTubers, I don't know or care if that ever came to pass. I never see these paid subscriptions promoted, so it seems like yet another idea that Google quickly lost interest in. All the music still seems to be there, maybe they are more aggressive about taking things down due to copyright, and there seems to be more of a trend toward non-skippable ads, but otherwise I haven't noticed much difference.
