Would you still buy the G2 today?

Unfortunately, with phones specially those that are not new and being sold on eBay, buyers are really rolling the dice. Even if new, no warranty because they are not being sold through authorized channels. You just don't know where the device is coming from nor it's history.

This is even more true when the device is so new as is the G2. You have to ask, why is the seller turning a great device?

I lost an LG Spectrum when I left it on my cars hood and drove off, and someone following me ran over it when it flew off the car at 50mph. It almost made it to the side of the road... anyway, I bought a new one off eBay that someone had won in an auction that was never activated. I saved a few hundred there, but like I said, there was no warranty through Verizon nor LG. I wouldn't do the same again.

I'm not sure if a custom rom might improve performance, but then you aren't really self sufficient to flash it.... wouldn't risk it with your grandson to do it.

Have you tried an app to boost volumes like Volume+

As for double tap... instead of tapping harder... try lighter and quicker.

I guess it depends, I bought mine brand new from eBay but it was from a trusted retailer (99.99% rating). They were from my country and they also sold other devices brand new, you just have to know where to look. But I dunno, I guess that might be more common here (there's another poster on here also from Australia that bought his G2 from eBay).

Had the G2(Verizon) for about a week. It replaced an Iphone 5S. I don't miss the 5S at all. This phone has a lot more features. Battery life is about the same or better with a great screen, wireless charging and optical image stabilization in a form factor that doesn't have huge bezel areas in the head and chin. I REALLY like this phone and I am pretty picky!!

If you are getting the same battery life as the 5S then your G2 has some problem. Mine gets about double the battery than my IPhone.

I would buy the g2 again. Unless the oneplus one is released soon. Id sell my phone in a heartbeat. ~$300 and it has 3gb ram. 5mp front camera. And ships with cyanogenmod

My only issue withthe G2 is the absence of functioning google wallet (with tap to pay) on T-mobile. It's a function of location of the NFC chip and carrier BS, I think. After root, I was always able to get it working on my previous devices (with Verizon and T-mobile). That being said, I absolutely LOVE this phone. Kudos to LG. I am really looking forward to the G3.
