Wow, LTE is fast!

Picked up my HOX 2 weeks ago but was in an area that didn't have LTE. To be honest, I didn't think my home was in an area with LTE either since I'm in a relatively small town in Oklahoma. But when I got back home I looked down and saw the little lte under my 4G. So I ran a speed test (through speakeasy) to see what the speed on my wifi network was then ran it again with wifi off to see what the speed was through lte...the results amazed me. Granted, when I ran the test on my wifi, my son was paying the Xbox 360 and there were two laptops on the wifi doing general browsing, but here are the results:

Wifi: 6-12mb down/1.5 mb up (most of the time down was around 12 but the end reading said 6mb)

LTE: 12mb down/6.5mb up

it was noticeably faster browsing on lte than on wifi...unfortunately I have a limited plan with AT&T, so I won't be using it as much as I would like, but I hope that when I start my new job I'll have wifi most of the time anyway...
 
Agree AT&t's LTE is truly fast...One of the reasons I just gave up and ejoy the kolaid for now. I also have this on my Lumia (work pone) and can say even on that it is truly fast and perfect.
 
A recent business trip let me see how fast LTE really is - I was like a little kid with a new toy.
Hopefully some day soon the Memphis, TN area will have LTE....
 
Anxiously waiting for ATT LTE in this area. Verizon is very fast here - I've seen 39/14 ish on many of my tests as of late.
 
at least you have the option of LTE in the US, us in the UK have no option but to wait for a year/year and a half at best before the service providers can stop arguing and get the ball started on our counties 4G rollout...

3g is alright but its getting to the stage where too many people are using it now and starting to slow down...

Want 4g sooooo bad :(
