Wow.. really no pause & resume while recording?

I've been using my boring but extremely durable Nokia N73 for the last 5 years or so, but when the 3MP camera in it finally broke after thousands of hits to the floor I decided to finally invest in a new phone.

Video recording has always been a key feature to me.. so I was really shocked when I found out many high-end phones lack the ability to pause & resume while recording. Which is ridiculous as almost every old phone had it.

So I was wondering if the countless applications out there offers a solution to the problem.. any application that makes it possible to pause & resume recordings?

Thank you in advance!

I seriously don't get the new generation of phones. It's like they put out broken or unfinished products and expect the community to fix it through apps.

That's the impression I've got as well. Somewhat frustrating really, and this lack of pause & resume personally disturbs me quite a lot.

From what I've understood not even the Samsung Galaxy S2 has this feature :o wtf.

There just HAS to be some software that fixes this!

Smart phones today can do so much more then feature phones could ever sue and the two can't be compaired. I believe the reason manufactures don't include everything in their phones, is the same reason they don't, for desktop PC's. Giving the customer the ability to customize your phone the way you like it, want it to function and not having to many stock apps that you might not use. As to the pause & resume, it could be the fact of trying to save on battery. Not to mention you can buy a dedicated digital camcorder for that. Also, knowing your phones capibilities and weaknesses will help in your planning.
