Wow... THREE VZWDROIDS?

Who woulda thunk that Verizon - the Slow Red Machine - would clunker out with THREE Android Phones by the end of 2009? It looks like the Desire, Sholes and now Passion could all launch before the end of the year.

"Passion" is a stronger word than "Desire" so I'm hoping this bad boy is high end... maybe the HTC Touch HD2? Hmmm...
 
I was seriously about to switch from verizon if I didn't hear about this news. They seem to always hang on, just in time to keep them as a service. Let's hope they don't limit what their network CAN & CAN'T be used for.
 
Any pic, spec for these phones?

Outside topic, what is the biggest screen size with 3 meg camera on cell phone at the moment and near future?
 
Just to provide some clarification from various research I've done as I'm keeping an eye on multiple upcoming phones in my search for a new phone with Verizon. Here is what I've found out as far as HTC model names are concerned, out of respect for this specific forum I'll start with the Passion...

HTC Passion (Android / No other known names at this time)

HTC Leo / HTC HD2 (Windows Mobile / Also known as HTC HD2) <---This seems to be fairly well known across multiple sources, so I believe this should discount your initial thoughts Rob, on the Passion being possibly the HTC Touch HD2, as it appears they already have dubbed the Leo just that.

HTC Imagio / HTC Whitestone (Windows Mobile) I've also seen multiple sites confirm that Imagio and Whitestone are the same phone. Imagio I believe is to be the new name.

HTC Desire / HTC Predator (Android) Not as much information on this one as obviously it's being kept under wraps so far, but I've seen multiple web sites stating that the Desire and Predator are the same.

HTC Hero (Android) Not currently available for Verizon, but some rumors are stating Verizon could be looking at it. Not too sure on that though.

Motorola Sholes / Motorola Tau? (Android) I believe I saw that this one is also knows as the Tau.

So those are supposed to be all the upcoming Verizon goodies, obviously the Desire / Predator, Sholes / Tau, and Passion are the main ones I'm looking at for my consideration of switching to an Android phone.

I'm not in the business at all, so all this is just from information I've found watching all these and reading news / various websites. Any corrections are welcomed, but just wanted to provide the info I have.
 
desire, passion, predator? i know these are supposed to be the verizon version of the hero which ever name they choose. does anyone know if they may have a lager cpu than the hero? or are they just going to be pretty much the same thing just repacked with the verizon logo? i know the droid is supposed to have a larger cpu but i dont know if i quite like the look of them yet maybe when they release the findal design of the droid andi can actually look at it i might like it better. ne ideas?
 
I think android on Verizon is a winner! Good coverage and awesome platform! Whatever comes I'm jumpin the BB ship and jumpin on the Android Wagon.

I think it means the literal HD2 handset will not have Android installed. But an Android 2.0 with the snapdragon processor would be very possible with what HTC's CEO said, it will just look different then the HD2.
