I have a Samsung Galaxy S i9000. Whilst at times it is a very good phone for surfing the net and writing on forums whilst at work, every time they release a firmware update it messes things up.
Straight from the box the text boxes would snap to the sides in landscape mode, which is the easiest way to write vis Skype or Samsung Keypad. This allowed for complete focus on the stuff i was writing, and i was able to move about the text box easily to correct any errors/spelling mistakes.
Then the next firmware update came out, and the text box no longer snapped to the sides. I had to move about on the webpage AND within the text box in order to see the words i was writing. Plus, they'd added a tab which appeared when you wished to select and copy words or paragraphs. This came in handy, but whilst in landscape it would force the text box away from the words, making it impossible to see what you are writing. Every time i moved the text box back into view, as soon as i started writing again it would shirt out of view.
The next firmware fixed this, but the text box remained movable. I got used to it, but the firmware slowed my Galaxy down something fierce. I've recently upgraded to the latest firmware (Gingerbread, 2.3.3), and the problem has returned - that of the text box being pushed out of the way by the tab.
The troubling thing is....with this update, the phone runs brilliantly. Much faster then the former firmware. But it has made writing on forums properly very, very difficult.
I'd like to know if anybody with an Android OS or phone has had something similar happen, and if there is any way to fix it....I love this phone, but if i cannot write on forums whilst at work i'll go mental...
