What I did was to just enter the name once only, and preface them with
ICE1 Cyndi daughter
ICE2 Mardonna wife
ICE3 PJ son
why does it matter? what is most important is that they are in your Contacts list.
I also force the sort list to use "first name" and that is the only name field that I use, period.
why? so that I can enter additional info for that name and it all shows up in the same line.
when the contact is up, the name continuously scrolls so you can see all of it anyway.
The Contact list, IMO, should not be your database... put that in a different app, such as Evernote or other good database utility. I will allow email addresses in the contact list, as it helps with our Android phones.
I don't use the Alpha sort to find them anyway, I use "Gesture search" which finds contacts and applications equally well.
