Wrong number when replying to text

I accidentally inputted the wrong number for a friend.. now everytime they text me and i try and reply its bringing up this old number. Ive deleted their number from my phone and unlinked it from facebook and started over.. but its still wanting to send this to their old number!

Help!
 
I have the same problem.

I inputted a friends number wrong the first time as 07786.. instead of 07886... I realsied and changed it to the right number.

However when I reply to texts from 07886... they can go to 07786... This has happened quite a lot and as I don't know them they are threatening to go to the police!

I have reset all my contacts and history but it still happens, any help?
 
Is it possible that when you input it from Facebook, you now have it in your Google contacts, and contacts is syncing with contacts in Google mail? If that were the case, depending on your settings, every time you synced with your Google account, it would put the incorrect number right back into contacts.
