hello ea, how do you like the evo? commercials make it look pretty cool. im new here too but so far this forum has been a big help. i rooted my phone and i have metamorph for customizations. pretty happy so far but i want to do more lol. what kind of stuff are you thinking of doing??

i would like to change the lock screen and do a lot more with the home screen

awesome. the screenlock was definitely my first step. my lock screen is the batman symbol, when pressed it becomes a cartoon of him. i might swap out the png files and make it ironman, but yeah i got the zip file on droidpirate and used metamorph to apply it.

oh and i deleted my messaging application the other day, freaked me out lol so glad i backed up my stuff

definitely start by rooting, i dont have any links for you and your specific device, but there's a ton of info out there. google it or search these forums for your device, let me know how it works out!

metamorph is an app that you can find on your phone's market

droidpirate is a site where you can browse through and download zip files, usable by metamorph, check it out, it's pretty nifty
save these zip files to your sd card, make a file called AndroidThemes (no spaces) and save them here

Once you get your phone rooted and your stuff backed up (i recommend using ROM manager) it is pretty easy to get started
