Help X10 2.1 Update - Issues/Problems

Yes at&t has not released it yet and as far as i know they don't plan on releasing it soon.

And that salesmen is a dumb as hell you should go kick him in the nuts so he cant reproduce lying to people like that what an inconsiderate asshole.

The only way you can get 2.1 is via flashing which will void your warranty so if you don't care about that tell me and ill give you a link to the downloads and ill write you a clearer guide on how to do it properly.

Thanks alot, I would love to do that. Because some of application i want to use now required 2.1. please show me how to do it . THanks much.

I believe Vodafone were having issues with SMS, but not sure of the details. I am sure I read that they have already issued a further update to fix it.

If you aren't with them have you checked with your carrier to ensure that your settings are correct?

Might be useful in your reply to comment on your location and what carrier you are on to give others on the same network a chance to comment.
 
Since I got the update, I am not able to sign in into any of the google application. I am using wifi connection, the phone takes about 30 seconds and a message saying "unable to establish a connection ... this could be a temporary problem. If problem continues, refer to service center"

Note: I can sign in to my Google mail through the Browser with no problems.

Any one can help please.
 
Hi, my problem is that i have a monthly contract at t-mobile uk, i've got from them my x10 mini pro, it had 1.6 android os., and when i wanted to do international calls or send text messages in other country, i had to turn on the data roaming option and it worked fine, i could do those calls. After i updated the os. to 2.1, in the data roaming settings i have 3 options: off, national roaming, international roaming. i tried all that options, but i can't call international numbers or to send text messages.. I dont know why, please if somebody know the answer, help me!!
 
Hi all been running with 2.1 in the UK on Vodafone for the last few weeks and would like to share my views

1) ease of update - Had the text from Vf to say it was availabe connected to the update service(pc companion) all software up to date! Managed to update manually though

2) Initially very good - much quicker that 1.6 less hang ups :D

3) Battery usage :mad: much shorther than 1.6 was - before battery would drop by 50% overnight now its more like 75%:eek:

4) Occasional reboots - becomming more infrequent but still annoying nevertheless

Well thats strange my phone last much longer maybe you have some roge apps running at night?
You might want to repair with PC Companion because your phone should not be rebooting it self?Or your battery might be going bad because once it reaches a certain temp it shut the phone down till it cools and that would explain crappy battery life too.
 
Could some one tell me how to open my files on OFFICESUITE? I tried to open it, but it said: no supported files. What should I do so I could open those files? Second question: is there a way I can change my reminder ringtone ( for my calendar) in different tone and longer? instead of using the same as my message tone( and too short?) Thanks
 
What files are you trying to open with it? When I click on my Officesuite it asks Phone or Memory card and when I click on memory card I am given a file list in which I can access Excel / Word / .pdf files.

In your Calendar app, press Menu>More>Settings>Set Alerts & Notifications, now you will need some kind of third party app - I have Handcent for SMS app which has the added element that it allows you to choose music and also Zedge ringtones app so both of these options then appear as well as the stanard Android System tones (which are a bit limited). Both of these are free from the market.

Not sure if this is an issue with the phone or with the Facebook app, and also not sure if it has been covered yet but it's a pretty nasty glitch...

When you goto "send" on a picture file and then choose Facebook from the long list of options, it will then show in the Facebook app with the option for me to add an image caption, etc and press "upload". If however I decided to back out at this stage, the picture would be deleted from my phone, lost forever. Wtf?!

I noticed this this morning when I went to upload a pic, but when it showed in Facebook ready to upload it was on its side, so I wanted to rotate. So I backed out, but when I went to find the picture file to rotate it in my imaging app, it was gone :(

Maybe you should do a system restore?
See i that fixes your problems.
 
I have put on the new update 2.1 but this update fixes one problem and creates another

Do you any of you have problems with the phone when making calls ?

The problem i had was that the screen stayed lit when making a call so you would hit the end call button. now my new problem is that it puts people on hold.

also i have my sister number saved on my phone but when you go to find it in the phone book its not there. But if you call the number it shows her name and you can only edit it by going through call logs

Having issues after the update to 2.1, during some apps like google navigation, angry birds, or youtube the the phone will randomly freeze up restart itself.

any one got any ideas?

i have the same problems with google ans angry birds, i have reinstall it 5 times now

i think SE still can't get the software right
 
Since the update, so far:
1. the screen has been "jerky" top half loading then bottom half a few seconds later.
2. Phone screen randomly goes blank and has to be switched off and battery removed to get it back on.
3. Screen randomly freezes.
4. Text messages are smaller and harder to read.
4. Browser windows, as above and each page needs resetting.

Who are you with and how did you upgrade?

I never have or had any of those problems and since I use Handscent I wouldn't know about the text message size.
 
Quick one guys. When you add a contact why doesnt the phone book give you the option to sync with Facebook. Have you got to enter Firstname and surnmae then sync??? And does anybody know if vodafone have sorted sony out with the text message bug
 
Press and hold the back key while connecting the USB cable and may be within some 5 seconds the phone will automatically switched on and the updation will kick start... try again it works...
 
Small issue with the keyboard. When I set the keyboard to make a sound when I touch a key, and also vibrate on key touch, it just does that crappy vibration that you can barely notice, and no sound. Have the keyboard settings on, and the general touch settings on vibrate and sound on keytouch, it works on general key touching, but not on the keyboard... anyone have this as well?

Yes the standard one is very weak and problematic try the android key board its was better in my opinion.
 
I've just updated to 2.1 and have a big problem! My work send me several pointless texts per day from a non-numerical phone number. I saved this in my contacts and used SMS Pop Up to set the ringtone to silent so my phone is silent for these texts but makes a noise for texts from real people. But now it doesn't recognise the non numerical phone number as the contact, so bleeps every time work text me! It's driving me mad. What can I do to make it recognise these numbers? Or is there a way of just setting all texts from non numerical numbers to silent? Help!
