x10 optimise

hello all i am a noob to the forums some of you may know me by now though only been here 3 days now
i rooted my x10i 2 days ago now and i used the optimise feature

yesterday i download titanium root which shows you how much ram the phone has and avaliable ram

since doing the optimise my phone has been amazingly quicker could not be happyer but after looking at the ram on titanium i noticed i only have 460mb?
is this becuse that is what the phone is registered to have or is that a real time idication of current ram becuase that seams stock where as the phone should be running 600+

the phone is not flashed yet only rooted and cleaned i have trying runing the optimise function again i belive 4 times but with no luck the ram is still shown as the stock 460 any advice or coments

O also i used the older version of the flashing program as for some reason the recent one would not work on my comp could this possibly be the reason?

Many thanks for reading

Andy

I thought the x10 only had 384MB ram?
Are you confusing ram with storage memory are you? Ram is like short term memory of the phone it doesn't permanently store stuff to it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random-access_memory
You can't increase the amount of ram it has unless you put some new ram in but that would be ridiculously hard to do as it's a small phone not a big computer.
The X10 comes with 1gb storage (not ram) on the phone and then you have your memory card storage too. Maybe you're looking at the amount of free storage on the phone? The OS and other stuff will take up space.

appoligies of course your right not possible to increase ram now that i think about it ^_^
but on the how to root guide for noobies here (http://androidforums.com/x10-all-things-root/272949-flashtool-guide-how-n00bies.html) the optimise section talks about increasing some thing from 450 to 650 using "JIT" it dosnt actualy explain what it is increasing i asumd it was a trick to increase the efficiantsey of the ram

if any one could just quickly explain what jit increase i would appreciate
but also additional note the specs for the x10 dose state it has 500mb of ram which i am registering just below

but thank you for your speedy response sorry for my initial stupid question

here you can check what it does ;)
Just-in-time compilation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

you can check the difference between having and not having this installed by running a benchmark test with and without.

without - ~450
with - ~750

this increase with stock SE rom and running Quadrant

thanks i think i understand it ^_^ complicated stuff for a computer noob like my self but the phones run much better any way so i am happy just looking to quantify the new improvment in a way i could understand

thanks for all the help
