XBox Live Phishing

So, I added someone as a friend today that I didn't recognize but just assumed was from here or pbnation.com. Well, I believe that person got ahold of my account and tried to order a bunch of MS points with it.

Lucky for me, the CC that was attached to the account is from a closed account.

So nobody has to learn my way, don't add people you don't recognize.

I didn't think XBL was able to be breached like that.

Yeah. Tried 4 orders: 1000, 2000, 4000, and 5000 points. Assuming $10 for every 800 points (I believe that's the rate), that's $150.

Yeah, but how does something like that happen? I'm not a XBox owner, so I don't really know how that works, but it sounds like there's either a bad hole or you had a bad password?

I'm not really sure. When I called support, they were...cryptic...about it. :p

I haven't tried to Google any more info on it either.

Crazy! Good thing i have a bogus credit card on file. I only buy MS points and Xbox Live cards from retail.

That's how I'm going to do it from now on. I saw 12+1 cards on Amazon for, I think, $34 the other day.
