Xiaomi 2 user, can anyone recommend a carrier?

Hello,

I just moved back to the states from China and I'd like to use my Xiaomi 2 here. I contacted Cricket and they told me they would have to "flash" my phone (not sure what that is) and it may not function well on their system.

It kinda seemed like they just wanted me to buy one of their phones, but I much prefer my xiaomi! Does anyone recommend a carrier for the Xiaomi 2?

Cheers,

J

straight talk is probably your best bet... either that or AT&T GoPhone might be worth a look. both of those should just be a matter of poping in your sim card, no flashing needed.

Might also be available for AIO Wireless which also uses AT&T Towers

It's a GSM/WCDMA phone and has the US 2G/3G bands, so it should be good for any GSM/WCDMA carriers, like AT&T. Don't know about Cricket, is that a CDMA carrier like Verizon or Sprint? - if so it won't work.

cricket is a prepaid carrier that runs on Sprints(I believe?) Towers

Cricket is an MVNO? Sprint is CDMA isn't it, so it probably won't work. And flashing software won't fix that. We have CDMA/EV-DO in China, China Telecom who do their own phones. But most non-carrier phones AFAIK are GSM/WCDMA.
