Help Xperia SP WiFi hotspot issues

I have a Sony Xperia SP phone on EE4G UK and im having issues with the WiFi hotspot mode. The first time I used it, all was fine but since then no other device will even find the hotspot.
Even if I try entering hotspot info manually and setting option to connect even if SSID is not broadcasted, devices just wont connect or find the hotspot. Im on latest system for my phone, details below:
Android 4.1.2
Build no: 12.0.A.1.257

Is this a glitch in OS or what?

On top of this, Google play store wont update correctly anymore. It keeps telling ne that background data is disabled, asks me to re-enable so I do but it just does it again when I restart play store. Any ideas?

Updating to 12.0.a.2.245 resolved both issues.
