Help Xperia X10, deleted Android OS. Help!

Snoozebum

Title.

I've deleted my Android OS. I was using XRecovery and deleted 'DATA' and 'SYSTEM'. I was going to click on back up and restore so I could go back and undo it, but accidentally i clicked on 'Reboot'. When i turn on my X10 it only lights up without shutting itself down with the text 'Sony Erricson' and nothing happens. To turn it back off I have to take out the battery. What can I do?

It won't even connect to my PC - PC Companion ..any help is appreciated!!!

You will need to run a stock RUU.

How will I do that? My USB connection to my X10 phone won't connect so I can't put any files inside the phone. No access to USB Debugging either.

All I can do with my phone is: Turn it on and it will show 'Sony Ericcson' for hours until it runs out of battery. Can't access xRecovery or anything.

Hello Snoozebum, welcome to the forums.

Charge up fully, then try the instructions for a factory data reset for that device, given here:

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10: Hard Reset

Does not work. Whenever my phone 'charges' up it immediately turns itself on and no matter what button I press it does not react. The screen comes on with the following "Sony Ericcson" and nothing happens for hours ..until the battery is dead. Thanks though.

It can help to have a lot of juice in the battery.

No offence but well done, it's bloody hard to brick an X10 :o

Have you used the flash tool before? Did you power it up before you plugged it in holding the back button? Have you tried to power it up while holding the back button to enter Xrecovery?

I'm unfamiliar with the flash tool. I checked with a fully charged battery and the LED was now green. I've tried powering up holding the button to enter xrecovery and it did not work.

OK if the led turns green from -power off-Hold back button down-connect USB lead-LED green then you should be able to flash a generic ROM and it is a lot easier than it looks just make sure you get the right rom for your phone/area and it will take around 5-10 mins total :)

Follow the link I posted above...

Thanks. Problem solved. :D

So it worked then...

Now play around with the flash tool and you can add JIT which is a performance booster that has been back ported from 2.2 and add dual touch and a host of other stuff.
