The newer version has more customizable. Hi,
This is a beautiful app to customize the home screen and many more. There are two ADW versions, (Donut & normal). Xperia X10 supports only Donut. Not supporting the newer versionThe newer version has more customizable.
Anyways xperia x10 can have the new version of ADW Launcher?
Regards,
Thanks, and by the way, is there any way, we can customize the dockbar? I do not want to see the dialer and browser app on it.
first post! New to the android platform, was using the iphone before i picked up the X10 from rogers. overall i like the android platform, but the X10 not so much, sold it already and looking forward to buy the milestone XT720 soon. Here's what i didnt like:
- call quality was terrible! always had issues with hearing the other person clearly even with the call volume turned up all the way.
- Resistive touchscreen/no multi touch: had issues typing on the keyboard, sometimes the it didnt even register touch input at all. and i absolutely hate the resistive touch screen.
- phone started to lag a LOT after 2 days of use to the point where i could not even make any phone calls. that just kept getting worse, even after rebooting the phone was still the same.
so there you have it, my short affair with android and X10. like i said, I am looking forward to buying the XT720 soon as it has everything I am looking for (capacitive touchscreen/multi touch/camera, 2.1 eclair). the X10 "COULD" have been such a better phone. I can over look some of the minor stuff but not being able to hear properly and not being able to make calls is just a NO.
) better than the camera on the Milestone. ...

.....NO.
I'm sorry to hear that you've had so many problems with the X10 but I just wanted to clarify a few points for you.
-the X10 DOES have a capacitive screen, the iPhone has a resistive screen. Maybe you got them confused? Not sure about the screen on the Milestone so I'll just take your word for it.
-the camera on the X10 is miles () better than the camera on the Milestone.
I understand your problems though, I just wanted to clarify on the capacitive screen point and I couldn't understand why you would prefer the camera on the Milestone to that of the X10. But, hey, it's your call either way. Hope you have better luck with the Milestone!
Actually, it's a TFT capacitive touchscreen. NOT Resistive.

I haven't been able to figure how to change what icons are there in the dockbar, and I too did not want to see the adw dialer or browser, so I just opted to turn off those Action Buttons in the settings (they're abbreviated LAB and RAB for left and right action button). After that, I set the app drawer background to being disabled, then made the status bar only appear if I swiped up on a homescreen. This, in my opinion, made the homescreen look a lot nicer and allowed more of my wallpaper to be seen (one of my pictures). If I find a way to change what you can put in the dockbar for the Action Buttons, I'll post it on here (unless someone can tell us how).
sorry guys i think i am still confused on what the screens are called, but what i was trying to get at was I like the kind of screen on the iphone (little effort but not usable with gloves vs X10- more effort but usable with gloves), if that makes sense lol
regarding the camera, I am talking about the new milestone XT720 with xenon flash and HD recording, not the milestone (droid).

I have an x10 mini pro and I'm finding that you can't actually delete apps =/
I've gone settings > applications > manage applications, and it even says there that you should be able to delete the apps, but when i go in to each one there's no option to delete/uninstall and bringing up the menu does nothing, literally.![]()
You can't delete/ uninstall stock apps. Are you saying you can't delete third pay apps?
No just the stock ones. With Vodaphone it's come with 5 game demos, and at least 10 applications that are just.. well useless crap. And they take up space, and have given me a whole 6 pages of apps when I just don't want them.
Hey guy's, 1st post here, so go easy on me!!
Here is my take on this.
1- Absence of "Multi-touch" has really made people change their decision - In this day & age, with the Blackberry Storm 2, Nexus One, iPhone & even the HTC Hero all with Multi-Touch, its a shame to see Sony lagging as usual. It would be great to zoom in & out of web-sites, or use Google Maps.... but hey
2- Some people are worried about the screen resolution - Screen looks great to me!! It way not have the colour depth that the HTC Desire packs, but it still looks sharp!!
3- Android 1.6 is an issue as well - 2.1 will be available 2nd half of the year according to Sony.
4- My own issue. The X10 does not have a flash player!! Although Adobe have confirmed it will launch flash for Android, it will only work on Android 2.1 or above. This leaves me to think us X10 users are going to be left in the cold.
